The color red is known to make people hungry, which is why it is a common color in restaurants (Chipotle, namely) and also raises blood pressure, both of which explain why straight men are so attracted to women in sexy red dresses.

 Orange tends to make rooms feel warmer and gives a strong sense of power to those within its walls; orange also stimulates a need to socialize.

 Our retinas sense the color yellow faster than any other color in the spectrum, so this is why school buses in America are painted yellow; yellow is also said to invoke both hunger and nausea, so I guess it depends on the person.

 The color green is believed to increase concentration as well as provide a sense of calm; unpleasant greens have been used as wall-color in factory bathrooms to increase production.

 Blue is the most common favorite color among people and also is known to produce a relaxing effect; using a blue lightbulb while reading or doing computer work at night can significantly reduce eye strain.

 The traditional color of royalty is purple, and painting a child’s room purple is said to increase imagination.
